QUALITY SYSTEM STANDARD FOLLOWED

Shyam Ferro Alloys Ltd. has adopted the most acceptable quality systems right from the Raw Material feeding to the furnace to finished product handling Raw Material feeding it consist of inspection and quality control lab reports on various raw materials based on IS 1473-1960 amendment for Manganese Ores and other IS Amendments for reluctant and fluxes. After ensuring these reports by process metallurgist the raw materials section will be conducted by verifying physical and chemical characteristics prior to feeding into the furnace through batch weighing system. After getting the desired end product called the finished product i.e., High Carbon Ferro Manganese metal, it will be once again tested in the laboratory for inspection and quality control measures. This will be carried out periodically within 2 to 3 hours interval by taking spoon samples of the end product and verified for its chemical specifications and these test reports will be given to process metallurgists for taking corrective measure if required. The Hot molten

metal is collected in casting pans instead of send pockets contamination further slag is systematically removed in molten stage itself to avoid slag mixing in the pure metal. The finished products size wise in respective platforms and yards.

Customer's satisfaction is our prime motto. The finished product in the form of metal cakes of H.C. Ferro. Manganese and Silico manganese are size manually to the required size and further screened to ensure perfect size reaches to the customers. The sized metal is transported to the specified are as stockyards by dumper and stocked in different platforms/yards. The appropriate work instruction for metal handling are followed every day. The customers can also have check on the product to their satisfaction

by verifying its physical and chemical characteristics before despatch if required. The sizing activities and quality control measure on chemical analysis can be viewed by customers to ensure their satisfaction.

QUALITY PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

Shyam Ferro Alloys Limited is ready to accept the new improvements in quality process systems, we proudly say the we have flexibility to customers satisfaction. The present analytical procedures adopted in Shyam Ferro Alloys Limited are as under, for Manganese determination the method adopted is Potassium Permanganate Titration called Volhard's method and for Silicon Manganese the Gravimetric is adopted as SiO2 vide IS 1470-1990 amendment and for all element for phosphorous Ammonium Molybdate method is adopted vide IS1171-1988. To avoid the non-conformity in specifications of physical and chemical characteristics of Ferro Manganese and Silico Manganese the SFAL is looking forward to adopt the counter checking methods by collecting samples at the time of loading customer's product for developing mutual trust and also in the area of process improvements we are anticipating a mechanised system for finished product sizing in closed circuit through crushing, screening and packing. This will ensure safe packing of quality product to the customer's satisfaction.
